Oda....

It's a big week for someone very special to me...my nephew is taking his first steer to the fair.  He has raised pigs in the past and decided it was time for a change....Months of hard work are culminating at the fair this week.

Oda was weighed in yesterday morning and met the goal set for him.  He is a big black steer with a teenie attitude.  When Seth picked out his steer here at our ranch, it was definitely the one that caught your eye....but it was also apparent he had a little "wild" streak.

We kept him here at the ranch in a pen by himself for a week or so.  He needed to get used to being away from the other calves.  Well, he promptly decided to jump out.  Within a few days he settled down and Seth came to get him.

Seth has done an amazing job with this steer.  He is gentle and looks great.

I didn't expect anything else, Seth always does a good job at his many projects.  He learned a lot about responsibility.  He had to miss out on several things, because he had to be home to take care of Oda.

We are proud of you Seth and wish you lots of luck with Oda at the fair!
