Change is a big thing. People don't like change and often don't want change. We like things just the way they are. Change sometimes signifies difficulty or presents challenges.
Change doesn't have to be a bad thing...it can be a great thing. Changes in life are opportunities in disguise.
When we are used to doing same the same way we get comfortable. When we are comfortable we may miss out on trying something new. There is nothing better than a change that sneaks in around the corner to present opportunity.
On my JV volleyball team, we have just seen some big changes. The team can choose to view them as a setback and give up...or they can choose to see the changes as a great opportunity. Now there are opportunities for players to move into positions and gain experience. Some of these players wouldn't have had this opportunity without the changes.
The important part is to be ready to seize your chance at opportunity. As in the volleyball scenario, the players who now have opportunity to play need to be prepared. By working hard throughout the beginning of the season at practice even though they weren't getting a lot of game time, they are now prepared to step in a seize this opportunity.
Looking for opportunity is important. If you miss and opportunity, someone else will grab it. Don't be afraid of change and let it prevent you from a golden opportunity.
Sometimes when things don't go our way or our plans are changed, we spent too much time dwelling on the change and the opportunity slips right on by.
When a change comes your way...take a hard look at the opportunity that may be being presented. It just may show you that that change was only for the good!
